Supporting holistic health in Shrewsbury
I believe strongly that a natural approach to your health and wellbeing, using complementary therapies, can be a powerful ally in modern life. I provide a beautiful, peaceful space that invites total relaxation. Daily stresses can have such a negative effect on our general health, wellbeing and happiness. To help you find ease and move towards a calmer, more relaxed state, I use reflexology and massage, with essential oils, to help you let go of some of the tension you are carrying, leaving you feeling lighter and more balanced.
Whether you are looking for help with anxiety, stress, menopausal symptoms, sleep problems, or to find relief from niggly aches and pains, my passion is to use a combination of different treatments, specifically designed for you, aiming to restore balance, energy and joy.
You want to feel secure in your choice of therapist and know that, as well as being warm and approachable, they are also qualified, experienced and professional. I have been practicing for a decade, am a member of the Association of Reflexologists, am highly trained in massage and bodywork, and have undertaken extensive further training to deepen my knowledge and understanding.
We all know that too much stress is bad for us, but did you know that it's estimated that up to 90% of all illness and disease is stress-related? Stress is literally killing us.
So managing stress in our lives is essential for our health and happiness. Taking time for yourself - stepping out of your world of busyness and obligations, even temporarily - can be the start of finding your natural balance. I help you to do this by providing an environment that is both supportive and therapeutic.
Each of us has our own individual susceptibilities to ill-health. For example, some of us get headaches, others IBS, hot flushes or depression. I work holistically, incorporating the Five Element Theory of Chinese Medicine, to allow your mind, body and spirit to relax and find its natural balance.
The environment you receive reflexology or massage in is so important. It can be so difficult to get the full benefit of a treatment if the surroundings are not relaxing. The garden cabin is a restful, peaceful space in a lovely, natural environment.
A heated blanket awaits you on the deeply-padded treatment table. Soft, brushed-cotton drapes cover you.
I use Neal's Yard Organic oils and balms, as well as their top-grade essential oils, for all my treatments .
Reflexology is a touch therapy based on the theory that different points on the feet and hands correspond with different areas of the body. By stimulating or holding these points, I encourage your body to return to a balanced state.
Holistic massage is all about you. Each session will be different and as unique as you are. Sometimes that will mean that deep work is appropriate and sometimes a lighter, more gentle touch. I draw from a wide range of techniques, with the ultimate aim being to provide a space and experience that will enable you to relax deeply, in your body and mind.
Many of my clients love to receive both reflexology and massage, and find it difficult to choose between them. They go beautifully together in a session, working synergistically to enhance each other.
One of my most popular sessions is a 75 minute combination appointment, but it is also available in 60 minute and 90 minute sessions.
I use Neal's Yard Organic balms for reflexology and oils for massage, including their scented massage oils such as Geranium & Orange, Women's Balance, or Juniper & Ginger. I also use their facial oils. Additionally, I make up a seasonal blend using Neal's Yard essential oils, for both reflexology and massage.
I offer the use of organic, lavender eye bags to aid deep relaxation.
